Mornington Peninsula
Why the Peninsula
A team offsite is a structured event held away from the usual workplace that brings a team together for a combination of strategic, social, or development activities. Unlike a standard team meeting, an offsite creates a change of environment that encourages different kinds of conversation, stronger relationships, and a reset from day-to-day pressures.
The Mornington Peninsula is 90 minutes from Melbourne CBD and a world away from the office. Coast, vineyard, hot springs, championship golf, and some of Victoria's finest restaurants, all within 30 minutes of each other. It is the most concentrated collection of premium team experiences in the state.
But the destination is only part of it. The quality of a team offsite is determined by the curation, the right venue for your group's size and culture, the right sequence of experiences, the right balance of structure and freedom. That is what we do.
The team can help choose venues and experiences to suit your group's size, objectives and available time on the Peninsula.

Offsite Formats
Each format is a starting point, not a template. We adapt every program to your team's specific needs, culture, and budget.

A single day designed to reconnect a team that has been heads-down for too long. Morning activity, shared lunch, afternoon experience, and a group dinner. No formal agenda, just time together in a beautiful place.
Typically Includes
Best for: Teams that need to reconnect after a period of intense work.

Two days that combine an expert-led team session with curated Peninsula experiences. Day one is structured around your team's culture or performance agenda. Day two is pure experience. The overnight stay is where the relationships deepen.
Typically Includes
Best for: Teams navigating growth, change, or culture challenges.

A premium experience designed to recognise and reward high-performing teams. Luxury accommodation, private dining, exclusive experiences, and the kind of attention to detail that makes people feel genuinely valued.
Typically Includes
Best for: High-performing teams that have earned something genuinely special.

Specifically designed for newly formed teams, post-merger, post-restructure, or simply a group that hasn't had the chance to build real relationships. The format prioritises shared challenge and informal conversation over formal activities.
Typically Includes
Best for: New teams that need to build trust and shared identity quickly.

A structured one-day sprint that takes a team from a defined challenge to a tested solution, using the Google Ventures Design Sprint methodology adapted for executive teams. The Peninsula setting is deliberate: physical distance from the office creates the cognitive distance needed for genuinely new thinking. Teams leave with a concrete prototype or decision, not just a list of ideas.
Typically Includes
Best for: Teams with a specific strategic or product challenge that needs to move from stuck to decided in a single day, without the noise of the office.

Based on the Spotify Squad Health Check model and Lencioni's Five Dysfunctions framework, this day gives a team an honest, structured look at how it is actually functioning, across trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results. The Peninsula setting creates the psychological safety for conversations that rarely happen in the office. Teams leave with a shared diagnosis and a concrete plan to improve.
Typically Includes
Best for: Teams that sense something is off, trust is low, conversations are guarded, or performance has plateaued, and want to name it honestly and fix it.

A restorative day designed for teams that have been running hard and need to invest in their own recovery before they can lead others effectively. Combines evidence-based resilience frameworks with genuine Peninsula restoration — thermal pools at Alba Thermal Springs or Peninsula Hot Springs, guided coastal walks, mindfulness, and exceptional food. Teams leave with a renewed sense of perspective and individual wellbeing commitments.
Typically Includes
Best for: Teams that have been running hard and need to invest in their own sustainability before they can lead others effectively.

Designed for groups drawn from different departments, business units, or geographies who need to work together but rarely do. The format uses structured facilitation and shared Peninsula experiences to break down silos, build mutual understanding, and establish the working relationships that make cross-functional collaboration actually work. The day moves between facilitated sessions and shared experiences, so the connections formed feel genuine rather than forced.
Typically Includes
Best for: Organisations where different teams, divisions, or functions need to work better together but rarely share the same room.

Free time at the property
Pool, gardens, spa, or simply a quiet moment before dinner. The unstructured time is as important as the structured time.
Welcome drinks and private dinner
Long table, good wine, and the kind of conversation that does not happen in the office. Seated dinner with matched wines from a Peninsula producer.
Bonfire or stargazing
For groups that want to extend the evening, a bonfire on the property, or a guided stargazing session with a Peninsula astronomer.
Optional dawn walk

From the Curator
"When a team has genuinely earned something special, Jackalope is my first call. The design is unlike anything else in Victoria, it feels like being inside a work of art. The restaurant, the spa, the grounds: every element is exceptional. This is the kind of place that makes people feel truly valued, and that feeling is exactly what the best team retreats are built to create."
- Peninsula Executive Retreats Team
"The combination of a private cooking masterclass followed by eating everything you've made together is one of the most powerful team connection formats I know. There's something about the shared vulnerability of trying to cook, and the shared pride of a meal that turned out well, that creates genuine connection faster than almost anything else."
- Peninsula Executive Retreats Team
"My intention is always to end with thermal springs, either Peninsula Hot Springs or Alba Thermal Springs. Floating in a thermal pool in the dark, with the stars above and the tension of the day dissolved, it's the experience that sends people home feeling genuinely restored rather than just entertained. It's the difference between a good offsite and one that people will actually remember. Peninsula Hot Springs suits larger groups and those who love the energy of the Royal Moroccan Marquee; Alba is the choice when you want something more intimate, more architectural, and more quietly extraordinary."

Confidential Peer Circles
Inspired by the YPO Forum model, the most effective peer learning format in the world, the Peninsula Forum brings together 6–8 senior executives from non-competing organisations for a structured, confidential conversation on the leadership challenges that matter most.
Unlike a conference or a panel, the Forum is intimate, expertly structured, and governed by strict confidentiality. What is shared in the room stays in the room. The format creates the conditions for the kind of honest conversation that is impossible in any other setting.

Common Questions
A team offsite is a broader experience, it combines time away, shared activities, and often an expert-led session. A team building day is typically a single structured activity. We design offsites that do both: the activities create shared experiences, and the structured session turns those experiences into lasting team improvements.
Group size depends on venue and programme requirements. Smaller groups (10–25) allow for more intimate venue options and deeper connection. Larger groups (25–80) require venues with dedicated event spaces and more logistical coordination, both of which we handle.
We collect requirements and discuss suitability with each provider before confirming the programme. We collect dietary requirements during the planning process and brief every venue and catering provider in advance. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher, and allergy-specific requirements are all accommodated.
Yes. We coordinate private coach transfers from Melbourne CBD, or individual rideshare/taxi coordination for smaller groups. The Peninsula is approximately 90 minutes from the city, we make the journey part of the experience where possible.
Absolutely, and we often recommend it. Even a 90-minute session on a specific team topic can significantly increase the value of an offsite. The team can discuss appropriate facilitators for your objectives and group.
Autumn (March–May) and spring (September–November) are our most popular seasons, mild weather, stunning vineyard colours, and the Peninsula at its most beautiful. Summer is excellent for coastal and water activities. Winter is surprisingly popular for intimate indoor experiences, hot springs, and fireside dinners.
